In Japan and some other countries, people thank fathers on the 3rd Sunday of June, celebrating the day as Father’s Day. On this occasion, music lovers will have a chance to enjoy a concert by a trio from the Vietnam Academy of Music--violinist Nguyen My Huong, cellist Nguyen Hong Anh and pianist Tran Thai Linh.
As members of the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra and Asian Youth Orchestra, the trio has been individually appreciated by critics. Formed in 2010, they have performed in many concerts and are supported by the Goethe-Institute in Vietnam every year.
The artists will present to audiences masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonin Dvorak, and a variety of classical and popular tunes from Japan, including some by Taki Rentaro and Yokoyama Shin-itchiro.
