E-passport to be issued in Vietnam

The Prime Minister has urged the Ministry of Public Security to go ahead with a national project on issuing E-passport in 2011, announced the Government Office.

There will be only one National Centre for Identification and Signature, headquartered at the Ministry. The relevant agencies will access the related information through the centre.

The Ministry of Public Security will work with the Ministry of Finance on how to use fees, collected from issuing E-passports and submit its proposal to the Prime Minister for approval.
