Vietnam Travel experiences

Truong Hoang Phuong has marked his latest map featuring attractions and roads leading to cities and provinces among others in Vietnam in detail for both local and foreign independent travelers to use as a guide handbook when they tour Vietnam.

The marketing director of the travel firm Vietmark told the Daily that he himself drew the Travel Map of Vietnam from his travel experiences over the past year and from the updates of his friends, who work for Vietnam travel firms.

Therefore, the map, scale 1:1,250,000, provides the latest information about places of interest around Vietnam, scenic routes, charts of road distances and especially newly-built roads.

The pocket-sized handy map also features maps of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue and Hoi An, which are among favorite places for foreign travelers in Vietnam.

The map also contains pictures of Vietnam's attractions such as Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot, Kon Tum, Da Nang, Nha Trang Beach, Phan Thiet, Can Tho, Sapa and other parts of northern Vietnam that the Master of Geography took during his recent trips.

Phuong said that his travel experience showed a detail map would be a useful guide and be of great help for tourists who travel in group or alone.

Phuong said he started to draw travel maps for the tours of Saigontourist only since 1998 and for sale in the last two years.

Phuong used to teach at the Ho Chi Minh City Teachers Training College before working as a tour guide for English-speaking tourists in 1993 and then product development manager of Vietnam's leading tour operator Saigontourist.

As the marketing director of Vietmark, Phuong designs new tours for the Ho Chi Minh City -based travel firm and of course has his travel maps of Vietnam updated every year to guide local and foreign travelers to anywhere in Vietnam they want.

The Transport and Communications Publishing House has printed 20,000 copies of Phuong's 2007 Travel Map of Vietnam for sale at Fahasa's bookstores. The price is VND-15,000 (some US$1).
